Part/Full-time LPN needed to provide services to adult patients in our outpatient substance abuse program. Must have 1 year of addiction/psych experience however will accept med/surg with 3 years experience.
Medical care for basic patient needs. Conducts lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to correct physician or registered nurse.
Job Responsibilities:
Documents pertinent information in patients’ chart and accurately reports and makes observations to appropriate staff. EMR-KIPU
Identifies and prioritizes client care needs using client history and nursing assessment during the admission process and discharge
Provides direct client care. Recognizes and interprets clients’ conditions and responses to therapy
Performs daily clients’ medication administration and reconciliation ensuring proper documentation and workflow
Assist in the collection of report data required for utilization review and quality assurance
Effectively communicates pertinent information at shift change to co-workers and/or program management staff (i.e., client hospitalizations, suicide watches, federal incident reports, AWOL /escaped clients, unknown whereabouts).
Accurately counts, records, and maintains a secured storage area for all prescription medications, sharps, syringes, and other medical equipment within unit
Provides direction to the primary care team as directed by the Medical Director or ANRP.
Initiates emergency support measures such as CPR and protecting clients from injury
Assists health care providers and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests and routine procedures.
Obtains patient substance abuse, mental health and physical health history, collects laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
Conducts lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to correct physician or registered nurse.
Administers Narcotics and medications per doctor orders and protocols.
Reviews patient chart, records and reports observed signs& symptoms of substance abuse and alcohol withdrawal, reactions to treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
Schedules and coordinates paperwork for patient transfers to medical facilities or discharge to outside step down continuation of care facilities.
Practices safety, environmental and infection control methods.

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: at least 2 years of related experience in addiction and/or mental health treatment. Some residential detoxification experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license. Current BLS. CPR Certificate.
