Java Nation in North Bethesda, MD is looking for Line Cooks to join our team. We are looking for people who share our passion for creating and serving delicious handcrafted food and freshly roasted coffee. *Job Overview*

The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing amazing dishes for our guests. Duties will include prepping meals by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, cooking meals, checking ingredients for freshness, and arranging and garnishing the dishes. You will also be in charge of ensuring that the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

*Responsibilities and Duties *

• Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.

• Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.

• Report to the kitchen supervisor and follow instructions.

• Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.

• Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.

• Stock inventory and supplies.

• Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.


• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

• In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Aptitude for multi-tasking.

• Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.

• Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.

• Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

* 8 hour shift
* Day shift
* Monday to Friday
* Night shift
* Weekends

* Cooking: 2 years (Preferred)

Job Duties:
* Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
* Follow recipes and presentation specifications
* Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
* Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
* Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
* Restock items as needed throughout the shift
* Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
