PART TIME or Per Diem Industrial Exercise Physiologist (or Kinesiologist) in Odenton, MD

NovaCare Rehabilitation's WorkStrategies Division is seeking a FULL TIME, PART TIME or Per Diem PRN industrial kinesiologist or exercise physiologist for our Odenton, MD outpatient center with onsite injury education and prevention at a contracted employer's distribution center. Our WorkStrategies division provides on-site injury prevention and ergonomic services to the industrial workers and their employers. While industrial experience is preferred, we are happy to train an Exercise Physiologist or Kinesiologist with at least ONE year of experience post graduation to perform these services successfully. Previous experience treating within an industrial setting is HIGHLY preferred.

We are looking for a dynamic individual able to continue to support and grow revenues through on-site services and maximizing center based Work Strategies services (Onsite Early Symptom Intervention- ESI). Some hours would include days at our Odenton outpatient center assisting our physical therapists with Post Offer Employment Testing (POETS), Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), patient care and front desk responsibilities (scheduling, verifying insurance, greeting patients, etc.)

Essential functions will also include, but not limited to:

Injury Trend Analysis
Work Risk and Task Analysis
Worksite Education programs
Onsite Intervention
Support, coach and train new employees
Conduct in-services to keep staff current in Work Strategies issues
Participate in CEU programs

Generally speaking this is a full time weekday schedule with hours ranging from 7am until 8pm. Specific days and hours will be discussed and planned. Keep in mind your flexibility is key and reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities:
Instruct patients/clients in the proper principles of exercise, utilizing a variety of media and equipment.
Demonstrate and maintain the alertness and the physical abilities to act in emergency situations.
Effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written skills for report writing and presentation of information to patients and staff.
Good problem solving skills to identify and prioritize issues in responsive manner.
Implement and execute action plan on timely basis and ensure appropriate results as defined by clinicians.
Active listening, reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence.
Ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to remain flexible with unexpected situations and in a changing work environment.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Degree in Exercise Physiology REQUIRED
Minimum one year experience in direct patient care

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day/shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone.
Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a work day/shift.
Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions.
Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
Ability to push wheeled equipment through the facility and in the community.
Possess fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence and presentations, either manually or through use of dictation equipment.
Possess fine motor skills for effective and efficient handling of diagnostic or therapeutic equipment.
