School Based Mental Health Services:

The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist is accountable for day-to-day evaluation, medication management, and crisis support of the on-site school based mental health programming. The psychiatrist will be responsible for maintaining a caseload of up to 115 students while working collaboratively with the education team. An ideal candidate for this position will have experience with both educational and behavioral health systems. This position will be required to work on site within two school buildings in Delaware County PA.

This role is an on-site position operating in a school setting under the license of the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic. It is a school-based, trauma informed, program that provides comprehensive outpatient treatment for groups of children & adolescents (ages 4-17) and transitional aged adults (ages 18-21). As a child psychiatrist with Child and Family Focus, you will work under the direction of its Board-Certified Medical Director for the Outpatient Psychiatric Program.

This is a salaried position that requires a minimum of 24-hours per week. Salary is competitive and benefits are included.

Position Responsibilities:

Implement clinical service delivery goals consistent with overall agency goals and policy/procedures.
Provide direct clinical service delivery as defined by the program description, best practice standards and in full compliance with licensure standards.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and document findings in an accurate and comprehensive manner.
Maintain professional relationship with students, parents, community providers, payers, and school district representatives.
Conduct medication management sessions and prescribe medications according to best practices, including minimizing unnecessary medications or prescriptive patterns that could result in dependency.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation of medication management services.
Provide quality services based on established best practice principles of care.
Maintain quality documentation of clinical service delivery.
Provide all authorized client services and provide supporting documentation for re- authorizations, as necessary, in a timely manner.
Submit accurate and timely payroll and billing documentation.
Provide direct clinical consultation to Nurse Practitioners and other clinical staff, as indicated.

Required Qualifications:

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from a regionally accredited medical school or through a foreign school with approval through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Licensed physician in the state(s) in which services are to be provided. Board certification in Adult and/or Child/Adolescent Psychiatry or board eligible.
Current and unrestricted DEA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
PA Criminal, Child Abuse and DHS FBI clearances
Maintain valid driver’s license and insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

Credentialed with PA medical assistance, Magellan Behavioral Health and commercial insurance carriers
One year of experience post-residency or must work under the supervision of another psychiatrist
