A part-time instructor is needed to teach HFS 300 Sec. M001 (3 credits) in Fall 2021 semester (8/30/2021-12/10/2021). Course description: The purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity for students to develop cultural competency by examining perceptions, mythologies, stereotypes, and practices relative to diversity, equity and inclusion. The course is designed to be an active learning experience, providing students an opportunity to identify and reflect on their own cultures, values and preferences, and how this impacts their individual sphere of influence and the various contexts in which they interface. The weekly seminar for this course will offer an opportunity for each student to develop, enhance and translate their cultural awareness, academic knowledge, and skill ability into application in a multicultural campus and community settings. Students will participate in self-reflection, self-critique, and cross-cultural engagement experiences. Class meets: : MW 12:45 p.m.-2:05 p.m.
