Job Title:Education & Research CoordinatorDepartment:Student Life | Association of College and University Housing Officers International
The Education & Research Coordinator for ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers-International) facilitates and makes decisions regarding high-quality educational programs, knowledge resources, and services for campus housing and residence life professionals across the globe. Focusing on supporting several key areas of the education and research portfolio, the Education & Research Coordinator assists in the development and execution of continuing and new content offerings that are fresh and relevant to housing and residence life professionals and consistent with the Association’s mission and its strategic priorities; acts as a key leader in the implementation of our expanding virtual programing; serves as a liaison between the home office and various volunteer leaders, subject matter experts, and committees across the organization; plans and collaborates with other ACUHO-I staff on marketing, communications, and budgeting; coordinates development of content with subject matter experts and resources for assigned knowledge areas; develops and maintains productive partnerships internal and external to the Association. Travel maybe 15%-20% for this position.
25% Content Development. Leads and coordinates the development of content-related resources and curriculum in assigned areas; Identifies and leads experts to facilitate content development, educational resources, blog posts, virtual roundtables/webinars, podcasts, online courses, and other web-content in assigned knowledge areas in collaboration with other professional staff and volunteer leaders; manages special projects to advance content in assigned area(s);coordinates research and assessment projects in assigned knowledge area(s).
25% Volunteer & Committee Management. Facilitates the work of volunteer leaders and Association Committees in assigned area(s); advances a sense of community among members who identify with different knowledge domains, interest areas, and affinity groups; develops working relationships with key experts and leaders in assigned knowledge areas; serves as a voice among staff for content areas covered in assigned knowledge areas; facilitates committee and community budgets as necessary.
20% Virtual Programming. Coordinates the work of volunteer leaders as content experts to develop high quality online programs for member professional development; collaborates with other Associations/Organizations to co-develop online offerings.
15% Education Event Facilitation. Leads the planning and implementation of high-quality educational events in the assigned knowledge area(s), as well as other Association events as assigned; serves as the primary contact and develops strong collaborative relationships with event volunteer leader planning committees; ensures events meet the standards, expectations and policies of the Association; develops key messages about the event in collaboration with marketing and communications; provides on-site management for education events; develops and evaluates the learning outcomes at education events; Budget management for assigned events.
5% External Relationships. Develops relationships with counterparts in key associations, corporate partners, and organizations in assigned knowledge domain area(s); facilitates partnerships with associations, corporate partners, and organizations.
10% Other Association Projects/Assignments. Participates in staff administrative and developmental meetings; maintains responsibility for other Association projects and duties as assigned; contributes to the overall work of the Association in serving our member institutions, corporate partners, and individual housing and residence life professionals.
Required: Masters Degree in higher education, student affairs, or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-4 years of experience in association management, higher education, student affairs or non-profit education. Desired: Experience in on-campus housing/residence life. Experience in planning and implementing events. Experience with research methods, data collection and analysis, and reporting.
This position will be located at our Columbus, OH headquarters, which is just east of Ohio State's main campus.
