About the job

This position acts as the primary liaison between prospective students and the Pepperdine School of Law, performing recruitment outreach for the Straus Institute’s in-person graduate degrees and certificate programs. In collaboration with Straus leadership and the CSOL marketing team, this position is responsible for maintaining prospective student communications and the nurturing of program applicants through relationship building efforts. This includes proactively engaging with new and existing leads by conducting email and call campaigns, individual consultations and facilitating class visits, planning and running weekly information sessions, as well as other in person and virtual engagement events and activities. This position also provides administrative support to Straus’ Managing Director.


Duties

  • Respond to inquiries, qualify interested candidates, and guide prospective students through the information gathering and application process. Motivate prospective students to complete their application process. Make daily outreach calls to inbound leads, following scripted cadence of topics to engage prospects using consultative selling and influencing techniques. Provide information and assistance to prospective students regarding the admission process, financial aid, and application procedures. Develop, maintain and continually cultivate relationships with prospects throughout their journey, including those that remain interested but may delay the application process. Schedule prospects for campus tours, classroom visits, senior recruiter calls, meet and greets, etc. Assist in arranging travel, managing schedules, conducting outreach campaigns and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications, outcomes, and recruitment activities within the customer relationship management (CRM) database. Creates, schedules and sends email correspondence through the CRM system. Assign tasks via the CRM database to program recruiters, generate dashboard reports, and meet regularly with recruitment team members to ensure that current recruitment activities are proving fruitful or need to be modified.
  • Provide administrative support to Straus' Managing Director. Assist Managing Director in the day to day scheduling of his/her calendar, managing travel and other work related tasks.

Skills And Qualifications


Required: Three years of working in a customer service or sales capacity. Excellent written and verbal communications skills; strong professional and interpersonal skills. Naturally personable and enjoys making phone calls and engaging in conversation. Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team oriented environment. Proficiency with CRM systems and standard Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Comfort with Google-based applications and other digital resources designed to facilitate information sharing and collaboration. PC skills including word processing and database


Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, education or related field; 5 years of experience working in an educational environment with recruitment/admissions responsibility and an understanding of marketing graduate education. Experience in cross-cultural communications and cultural sensitivity. Previous experience with customer initiatives, consultative sales, and objection handling. Experience with Salesforce, Peoplesoft or similar university records management database; demonstrated ability to leverage current and emerging technology tools to enhance student communication and engagement. This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.
